Feb 28th 2011

I was really unmotivated to get out of bed this morning which wasn't helped by the fact that all my boys wanted to do was snuggle rather than get up and go to school.  After some procrastination I finally got all our butts out of bed at 8am (1 1/2 hours late) and rushed around like a headless chook to get ready and out the door by 8:20am so we could get to school on time.

I decided that since I wanted to get more exercise and we only live 10 minutes away from the school that we would all ride our bikes - let me just say that walking would of been quicker LOL!

FOOD:
Breakfast (1/2 Cup of Oats and 2 Scoops of Protein Powder) wasn't until 9am but I figure better late than never.  Morning Snack was a Diary Farmers Yogurt which I think is too high in calories (168) and so I will be going back to my Forme or Nestle Diet.  From here it is all down hill.  Lunch was a Banana on the run (well, ride actually) at 1.30pm - I did have good intentions of having Rice Cakes and Cottage Cheese but ran out of time as I got side tracked as per usual.  I cooked a really yummy Chicken Caccattoire with Vegetables and Brown Rice for dinner but because I hadn't eaten enough and frequently enough through out the day my band refused it and so Dinner was Nothing and other than that I have had 2 coffees and 2 teas.  Total calories for today = 756.  I am so disappointed in myself, I should be having a minimum of 1400 calories per day.  Not only that I am sitting here now feeling a little peckish but unsure what to have considering I am going to head to bed soon.  The one things I don't want to do is make a poor choice which is easier to do when feeling like I am right now.

EXERCISE:
Tonights session was with Andy - the Impact Fitness Commando, and even though it was Intense and Challenging I loved every minute of it.  Something that really pushed me out of my comfort zone was literally boxing into him - no mitts, just straight into him.  I have to say that once I got into it I started to like it and am now thinking that I might actually like to have a go in a proper boxing ring - so much for a pacifist hey!  Other than the boxing we did Sprints, Squats, Lunges, Ab circles, Burpees, Dips just to name a few - Jam Packed torture!  As much as I pushed tonight I feel that I still could of given more but was hindered by my Asthma, Knees and my Heels, but I did what I could and am still pretty proud of my efforts.  Somedays and am amazed at how far I have come and what I have achieved.  I am no longer the girl that avoids exercise, I am out there wanting more and more and I am enjoying this path.  Total Calories burnt with exercise = 607 (45 minutes Body Circuit + 10 mins of Cycling).

Taking my exercise into account my Total amount of Calories today = 148 This is ridiculous - tomorrow I am going to do better.

Well its 11.00pm which means lights out for moi.

Update as at End Feb 2011

Due to school holidays, packing and moving house, unpacking, my husband cutting his hand open on a power saw, the kids going back to school, and life just generally being hectic my training and nutrition got pushed to the back burner which has seen me pull out of the Body Blitz Challenge and left me feeling Blah!!

Some BIG news!!  I have taken the leap (with a little push from my fabulous friend Marianne) and enrolled to do my Certificate III and IV in Fitness (as well as my Certificate IV in Massage on top of my Yoga Training - Phew, I am going to be one busy girl), and so I figured that it was time to get back on track which meant that it was weigh in time.  What I hadn't realised was that I had not weighed myself since the 2nd week in January - can you believe it, how's that for progress!

Considering it had been two months since I fell off the rails the results were more positive than I expected them to be and although its still so far from where I would like to be I am dedicated to making it happen and know that I will get there eventually (sooner than later would be nice).

RESULTS:
I Lost .4kg, Lost 1.3% Body Fat and Gained .8% Skeletal Muscle.  All the measurements were the same and so I have just used my Jan 2011 photo (below).

My 'fitness' goals for this week...
  • Lose .6kg
  • Follow Nutrition Plan
  • Take Supplements
  • Increase water intake
  • 30 minutes of Cardio everyday
  • Get adequate rest (bed by 11pm)
Well that's it for now, I will once again be updating my blog as often as I can as I believe it keeps me focused - accountability is a huge factor.

Here's to an awesomely productive week ahead for us all.

xox

Note:  I will be re-entering the Body Blitz Challenge in 3 months time.

Knee Surgery Booked!

I saw the Orthopedic Surgeon today and he recommended an Arthroscope for my right knee (the left one will possibly need doing further down the track if it doesn't improve with medication and special exercises).

I can't remember the scientific name of whats wrong with it but basical my knee cap isn't sitting within the groove the way it should be, because of this it is creating debris and this causes the knee to lock.  The operation will make the area within the knee smooth again so that it will slide the way it should.

Unfortunately he said that this could only be a temporary solution but I figure that I will just take one day at a time and deal with whatever comes when it comes.  Besides that anything is better than what I've been putting up with.

I am booked in at the Bacchus Marsh Hospital on Wednesday August 3rd.  In the meantime I need to fill in some paperwork filled and get xrays and then I just wait.

I won't be allowed to do full on exercise for 6 - 8 weeks, but I can swim once the stitches are out so I am going to plan to do lots of Aqua Therapy, Upper Body Workouts (Boxing and Weights) and short walks.

Today was a good day, Calories are in check and I worked out for over an hour which is probably a little too much but tomorrow is a rest day.
