Bring on the Booty Butt

WHOO HOOO - I beat my PB again!!!!!!!!!

3 reps @ 56.5kgs baby that's what I'm talking about *High 5*

Before that though I pushed out 5 @ my previous PB weight (find out what that is HERE)

AND.....

I weighed in today and I have reduced my weight by 2.1kgs (I don't want to say LOST it because that implies I would like to refind it and that I do not want to do) since Monday which feels awesome as on Monday after my big bender weekend I shamefully weighed 87.5kgs - today I am 85.4kgs which is 14.4kgs off my lowest weight when I lost the 56.5kgs (yep the amount I squatted today).

I lost the weight by doing HERBALIFE.  I have a shake for breakfast and lunch and a normal dinner and snacks along with herbal vitamin supplements 3 times a day.

The first day I struggled with my mind wanting a 'bad choice' midnight snack - I compromised with a good choice.  The second day I was a little bit hungry as I didn't time my meals right and missed my daily snack.  Today day 3 I am finding it easier, mind you seeing an awesome result helped somewhat.

I have tried using the products in the past but because I wasn't dedicated enough to sticking to the shakes and I allowed myself to be tempted by 'bad choice' snacks I didn't get the results I was after.  It works the same as everything else really, if you are dedicated enough to really wanting it to work, it will.

I signed up as a distributor back in October 2012 after seeing a friend of mine get amazing results.

Whilst I believe that learning about nutrition and being consistent with your clean eating is a very important process I also understand that sometimes it can all get too much and you need a little boost to help you along the way.

Herbalife is great for people who want to Lose Weight, Maintain Weight, Gain Weight, Want to maximise Sports Performance or just generally need More Energy.

The products are safe for everyone from pregnant and lactating ladies, celiac, lactose intolerant and children and there is a 30 day money back guarantee as the company ensures that if you follow the plan and eat a clean and nutritious meal and snacks and also include some exercise then you will get the results you want.

Inner Strength

Losing our way and getting down and lacking energy happens to all of us at some point or the other but beating ourselves up for feeling that way isn't going to do us any favours - its normal, accept it and find the determination within to not let it beat you.

Everyday you can decide to just get up and seize the day, to make it yours no matter what is thrown at you. For every negative respond with a positive - search deep if you have to but make sure you find one.

Also be proud of where you are on the path and focus on the now taking one step at a time towards your goal because even when we do the dance of life...one step forward and two steps back we are still moving and we will eventually get there.

I want to be the Biggest Loser 2013

If you are one of those people like myself who watch The Biggest Loser now is our time to get inspired and motivated and driven and every other word you can think of to actually start doing rather than wishing. Let's not sit watching the finale wishing we had of achieved the same results - let's make it a reality.

For me, whilst my training is going great guns my nutrition is still letting me down.  NO let me rephrase that!  I am letting myself down because I keep self sabbotaging myself and going off track with my nutrition.

I don't want to be on a diet or to deprive myself and restrict certain food groups (although I know that in order to achieve my ultimate goals this will need to be done) I just want to live a healthy and happy life and so it all comes down to two things....

Unfortunately lately my biggest problem has been GROG!  I've gone from a person who would be lucky to have one drink every 6 months to drinking on a regular basis and the amount of empty calories in it is ridiculous!  I know its just a phase at the moment as I'm still getting used to having every second weekend off from the boys but I also know that its not doing me any favours.

Anyway, I started my detox (herbalife) yesterday in the lead up to EASTER (Chocolate torture is what is should be called) and despite really struggling last night to fight the midnight munchies I managed to stay true and not go off the rails.

NOTE TO SELF:  Revisit some old blogs to help you say NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! to temptation!

PS.  Easter SUCKS but I am looking forward to spending time with the boys over the holidays.

Achieving PB's Feels Great

Holy Cow where does the time go?? I am sure I have said that in many other blog posts but it really does feel as though if I blink too long I will miss a huge chunk of the year, I mean its March already!!!!!!

Since the last post I have achieved heaps training wise and I wanted to share them with you, because I am proud of myself, yep you heard me I praised myself and it feels good to pat myself on the back rather than kicking myself up the butt LOL!

EVERY single accomplishment you make on your journey is to be celebrated.....

ACHIEVEMENTS and PERSONAL BESTS

1.  STEP JUMP

I started off with just the step on the floor and then slowly raised it up to shin height which is tough physically but especially mentally.  I am so happy to say that I finally pushed through the negative self talk to be able to jump with both feet together up onto the step, not just once but consecutively.

By negative self talk I mean telling myself that I was too heavy and that the step would break underneath me, telling myself that my knee will break from the pressure on impact and telling myself that there is no way that I can jump that high and that I would fall flat on my face and humiliate myself.  It has literally taken me years to get past it but I am finally there, it's not a Cross fit Box Jump but its a start.

2.  BACK SQUATS

So once a week in training we have been focusing on my Squats and building up strength in my legs again after my knee operation.  My biggest fear with the squat is getting stuck in the low phase and not being able to get back up so, in comes a seat or step or box which acts as my safety net and also ensures that I am getting the proper depth.

We (my trainers and I) have been slowly increasing the weight over the past few weeks and I have now achieved a PB (personal best) of 3 reps @ 51kg's, which I think is amazing as it was only 2 weeks before that I was amazed at reaching 42kgs so to go up by a whole 9kgs freaks me out as it even felt easier than the lower weight - go figure huh!

What I would like to take a moment to reflect upon is how freaking heavy 51kgs is and to once again ask 'how the heck did I carry around all that extra weight for so long?'.  Is it any wonder my knee got screwed up.  I promise myself that I will NEVER allow myself to get there again and I am so proud of how far I have come.  More praise, holy cow I hope you haven't fallen over ;o)

Me at my heaviest weight of 127.5kg

3.  DEADLIFTS

PB of 57kg Deadlifts whilst standing on top of a step so that I get an extra stretch as being gumby (flexible) means that in normal range I don't get to feel it where I am supposed to which in this exercise is the hamstrings.

Getting good technique is ultra important for me and even though I could of probably lifted heavier it would of been with poor form which could increase my risk of injury and so its not worth taking the risk.

4.  SHOULDER PRESS

PB of 27kgs and I am so happy with that result as it was achieved on a Monday after I had worked photographing a wedding for 12 hours and then got on the turps, so as you can imagine I wasn't feeling too strong at all :/

On top of all that I am also doing crazy cardio WOD's (workout of the day) and can feel that my fitness levels are once again improving - YAY!

I have to say that am loving lifting weights as it makes me feel empowered!

.....but she's sexy while she's doing it!

I want to give a shout out to my two awesome trainers Craig Harvey and Toni Lane at Invictus Fitness & Mixed Martial Arts who manage to continue to push me just that little further each time.
